SPI’s Managing Director Leon Forde Announced as Keynote Speaker at the AFCNet 20th Anniversary Seminar in Busan, South Korea

OlsbergSPI’s (SPI) Managing Director Leon Forde is the keynote speaker and discussion moderator for the Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet) seminar Navigating the Shifting Global Screen Production Sector to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The seminar will examine the current state of the global production industry with a focus on Asia, exploring best practice in key elements of screen sector development the importance of incentives, infrastructure and workforce capacity in driving production flows.

Leon, as keynote speaker, will also identify the main challenges faced by film commissions worldwide and share key findings from from SPI’s recent study in collaboration with the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), Best Practice in Screen Sector Development.

Leon will also moderate the panel Adapting to Change: Diverse and Proactive Approaches in Film Commission Strategy, featuring representatives from the Japan, Jordan, Busan, and Bhutan Film Commissions, and Calgary Economic Development. They will discuss industry changes, strategies for attracting international and domestic productions, incentives, workforce and infrastructure development, location management, sustainability, and regional challenges and opportunities.

The AFCTNet 20th Anniversary seminar is taking place at the ACFM Event Hall A, BEXCO, Exhibition 2, Busan, South Korea, on 6th October, 2024 from 10:15-12:00 (KST)
