SPI Publishes Study on the Potential Impact of a Croatian Video Games Incentive

OlsbergSPI (SPI) has published a new Study, A Video Game Development Incentive for Croatia. Commissioned by the Croatian Game Development Alliance (CGDA). The Study investigates the feasibility of a new video game development incentive in Croatia and advises on its potential economic impact.

The Study finds that in 2022 the Croatian video game development sector contributed €49.6 million in total Gross Value Added (GVA) to the Croatian economy, and supported approximately 1,140 full-time equivalent (FTE) workers.

SPI’s projections show that introducing a national video game development incentive in 2024 could significantly boost the economy, generating an additional €99.3 million in GVA between 2025 and 2029, and supporting an additional 450 FTE workers per year on average over the same period.

The Study will be launched at the Reboot Infogamer gaming fair in Zagreb on 14th November, with SPI Senior Research Analyst Joe Stirling Lee participating in a presentation panel, alongside Krešimir Partl, state secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, and Aleksandar Gavrilović, general secretary of CGDA.
